Born at Park Terrace, Falmouth, Tresidder studied painting under Stanhope Forbes and eventually took the role of tutor in the original Falmouth School of Art.

Although his actual career lay in banking his painting achieved a considerable standard, exhibiting at the Royal Academy, London.

He was a close friend of Henry Scott Tuke and associated with many prominent artists who worked in the Falmouth area during the early 20's.
