THE St Mawes artist, Julian Dyson, was diagnosed in March 2000 with throat cancer. On coming home from hearing the diagnosis he produced this self portrait, which he painted to capture how he felt.
After an operation and treatment his cancer went into remission for three years, during which time he energetically produced some of his best work.
