The Naomi G. Weaver Gift

The Naomi G. Weaver Gift

In 2009 an important collection of works on paper was bequeathed by Mrs Naomi G. Weaver to the Art Fund and given to Falmouth Art Gallery. Mrs Weaver supported art in its many forms and institutions. She was a member of the British Museum, V & A, Tate Museums and the MOMA in New York. She was a committed believer in making art available and consistently contributed to The Art Fund.

It was her specific wish that her collection of works on paper be given to the Art fund as a way of making them more broadly available for exhibition, for scholarship, but above all for enjoyment.

Naomi Weaver loved art, she loved to be surrounded by it, to study it, to be challenged and uplifted by it. And, of course, she loved to share her passion for it. Her bequest expressed her cherished hope that the enthusiasm which enlivened her life might be a continuing spark which would spur and enrich the lives of many others.
