War Stories

05 Nov 2018 - 05 Jan 2019

To mark the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 we are staging an exhibition about the 'Munitionettes' in Cornwall.

The munition girls or 'Canary girls' were women employed in munitions factories during the war. It features two major paintings by Stanhope Alexander Forbes loaned from Imperial War Museum and the Science Museum hung alongside striking images and previously unseen archive material from the Cornwall records Office.
