RECYCLED paper and card is the medium for this exhibition of great art. The finest exponents in the country working in papier mâché have been invited to show their creations. Included is Philip Cox, whose life-sized people and animals are created solely from paper and card without the use of paint. He painstakingly cuts printed paper which he layers onto cardboard armatures to create the colour. Emily Firmin, the little girl in Bagpuss, has grown up to be a great exponent of the art of papier mâché. She and her partner Justin Mitchell show their brightly coloured fish, cats and dogs that have gained international acclaim. Other masters of this medium include Julie Arkell, Joseph Fiol and Lynn Muir. There is much warmth in this show, where the distinction between exhibits and visitors is not always clear. | ||||||||||||||||||
