Falmouth Art Gallery +44(0)1326 313863

THIS major exhibition is part of the nationwide festival to mark the achievements of Lord Nelson on the 200th anniversary of his death, the news of which first officially arrived in Britain with The Pickle at the port of Falmouth.

Old masters, contemporary art, children’s book illustrations, puppets and automata are included with works by Dave Cross RSE, Sir Terry Frost, Charles Napier Hemy RA, Peter Markey, John Miller, Keith Newstead, Sir Roland Penrose, John Trigg, Henry Scott Tuke RA and Alfred Wallace.

This romantic exhibition shows the ship as a symbol for the passage from life to death, which has caught the imagination of artists for centuries.
