The gallery has an outstanding collection of over 2,000 artworks that range from Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist paintings to contemporary prints, photography and a children's illustration archive. We also have the largest contemporary collection of automata in a public museum and regularly commission new ones.
We have a vibrant exhibition programme so the works on display from our collection are constantly changing and there is always something new and exciting for visitors of all ages.
The collection cannot be viewed in its entirety when you visit the gallery but please ask a member of staff if you wish to see more. When staffing allows we are happy to take you into our art stores for a peak at a few more treasures!
RCPS TUKE COLLECTIONWe have recently become custodians of the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society Tuke collection. The Tuke collection is believed to be unique. These works will be made available for exhibitions at a local, national and international level.
