ART COLLECTION

The gallery has an outstanding collection of over 2,700 artworks that range from Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist paintings to contemporary prints, photography and a children's illustration archive. We also have the largest contemporary collection of automata in a public museum and regularly commission new ones.

We have a vibrant exhibition programme so the works on display from our collection are constantly changing and there is always something new and exciting for visitors of all ages.
