This view shows the old market which was held where the Post Office on the Moor is now situated. The fountain has been moved to outside The Seven Stars pub.
About the Artist
From Brentford, Essex, Croxford gave consecutive sending addresses as St Leonards in Sea (1886), Hastings (1889), St Ives (1892) and Headlands, Newquay (1894-96). He painted scenes of fishermen and harbours throughout Cornwall in the late 1880s, exhibiting his work at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the Fine Art Society.
