44 works

Born in Wigan, Lancashire in 1935, he later went on to study at St Martin?s School of Art and Camberwell School of Art.

He took up sculpture and travelled whenever he could to visit various art exhibitions across Europe. While still working as an artist he began to teach part-time. From 1962 he exhibited one-man shows regularly in Europe, Scandinavia, New York and Toronto.

It is Abraham?s mission to ensure his work is accessible. Thus his pieces are often more figurative than abstract.

He and his wife, Evelyne, bought a house in Pezanas, Southern France in 1973. They recently moved back to Britain, Ramsgate is now their primary work base.

In 1989 Abrahams was elected into the Royal Academy.
