Surrealists in Cornwall: The 85th Anniversary

18 Jul 2022 - 24 Sep 2022

During the summer of 1937, an extraordinary group of Surrealists came for a holiday to Cornwall for the first time. Among them were some of the most influential and original painters, sculptors, writers, and photographers of the 20th century.

This exhibition celebrates the 85th anniversary of their holiday with the display of photographs by Lee Miller and her husband Roland Penrose that reveal the rich vein of Surrealist activity that occurred during their stay at a manor house, Lambe Creek, near Falmouth.
