This is a proposed frieze of either wall paintings or tapestries. It is not know if they were ever completed. There are other studies for these series in the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff and in Birmingham City Art Gallery.

The drawing depicts a procession of people who symbolise various human emotions such as penitence, shame, infame, cruelty, ferocity, fury, dissemblance, suspicion, hope, fear, danger, fancy, covetousness, doubt and grief.
